Abstract:

Program managers and policymakers in developing countries have expressed interest in obtaining estimates of basic demographic indicators for small areas in order to set targets, allocate resources, and monitor performance of family planning and maternal and child health programs. In this report, estimates of contraceptive prevalence rates are provided for 30 provinces of the Dominican Republic and 32 districts of Kenya using the synthetic and regression methods.
